Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement for heavy equipment and spare parts, including cranes, reach stackers, forklifts, terminal tractors, and related machinery.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
- Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, contract negotiation, and long-term vendor relationship management.
- Oversee CAPEX procurement for large-scale equipment and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, and customs requirements.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders.
- Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
- Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) to ensure effective procurement operations and data integrity.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional procurement or supply chain certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Direct experience in sourcing and procurement of heavy equipment and spare parts.
- Proven experience in the port, terminal, or logistics industry is strongly preferred.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, and customs compliance.
- Experience managing CAPEX procurement for large-scale projects and equipment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
Language & Communication
- Good command of business English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prepare and present procurement strategies and reports to senior management.
