Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Financial Management
- Own P&L performance for assigned categories, including sales, margin, and operating income
- Monitor and analyze Month-to-Date and Year-to-Date performance, identifying risks and recovery actions
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting by category and customer segment
- Translate commercial targets into clear action plans and execution milestones
Category & Assortment Strategy
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with company vision and market trends
- Lead product assortment planning including core range, new product launches, store formats, and annual reviews
- Drive innovation initiatives to meet customer needs and improve competitiveness
Pricing & Promotions
- Define pricing strategies and structures to ensure market competitiveness
- Lead price negotiations for new and existing products, including margin and other income
- Oversee annual promotion planning, special events, and sales gap recovery initiatives
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Lead strategic sourcing programs and category plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Manage supplier performance through defined KPIs and regular business reviews
- Negotiate and manage key supplier and packaging contracts to meet quality, service, and cost objectives
- Act as a subject matter expert in sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier partnerships
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Store Formats, and other internal stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers and external partners
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring capability building and succession planning
Key Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Science, or a related field
- MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in retail, wholesale, FMCG, or consumer goods
- Strong background in category management, commercial strategy, or strategic sourcing
- Proven people management experience at manager or senior manager level
Skills & Competencies
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Strategic mindset with ability to execute and deliver results
- Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive change, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel up to 30% as required
