Job Description

  • Provide trade compliance guidance to company business functions, including supporting government audits, offering general advisory, resolving issues, and conducting audits with follow-up action plans across the APAC region.
  • Identify and promote best practices in trade compliance, developing strategies to implement them across the organization.
  • Lead audits of existing trade compliance processes to drive improvements and enhance performance.
  • Design and maintain regionally focused training programs to enhance trade compliance expertise at local sites, including delivering awareness presentations.
  • Ensure data governance and accuracy in customs documentation, product classification, country of origin, valuation, and customs reporting.
  • Stay informed about changes in export control laws and regulations, analyze their implications for company products, technologies, and policies, and adapt export procedures accordingly.
  • Oversee the origin and trade preference process, ensuring suppliers’ and customers’ declarations are accurate and conditions are met.
  • Support Company in assessing and maintaining compliance with import/export regulations, trade laws, and global sanctions requirements.
  • Lead regional trade compliance initiatives, develop strategic plans, and collaborate with regional and country leadership to align with global objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT partners and key stakeholders to ensure systems are consistently updated, upgraded, and integrated to meet trade compliance standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in law, finance, logistics, or a related field relevant to the role.
  • 8-10 years of experience in an organization managing global customs legislation and procedures, , export regulations, and foreign trade agreements in Petrochemical, Chemical or Energy industries
  • Solid experience in trade compliance and regulatory practices specific to the APAC region.
  • Excellent communication English.
  • Capable of working independently, setting priorities, and delivering results under pressure with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to fulfill role responsibilities.
