Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
The Radiological Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs) under the direction of a radiologist or physician. The role involves operating complex imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and producing high-quality diagnostic images to support accurate medical evaluation and treatment.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures according to physician orders and department protocols.
- Prepare and position patients to ensure correct and safe imaging.
- Operate radiographic equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.) and adjust controls to obtain optimal images.
- Ensure radiation protection guidelines are strictly followed for patients, staff, and self.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the medical information system.
- Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or need for maintenance.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to provide quality patient care.
- Educate patients about procedures and address any concerns to ensure cooperation and comfort.
- Adhere to infection control and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Certification by a recognized professional body (e.g., ARRT, or country-specific licensing).
- Valid radiologic technologist license (as per local/national regulations).
- Knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, and radiographic techniques.
