Job Description
Strategic Development & Management:
- Establish a competitive cross-border trucking service integrated within the company's regional product portfolio.
- Manage the end-to-end trucking network across the region, collaborating with regional and country-level management teams.
- Develop and enforce trucking policies, strategies, and operational guidelines.
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain partnerships with senior-level stakeholders from strategic partners and vendors.
- Oversee transportation costs and implement standard pricing systems.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with vendors to ensure quality and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Define procurement guidelines, capacity management processes, and KPIs in collaboration with the operations team.
Sales, Marketing, & Business Development:
- Actively participate in sales efforts, including contributing to quotations for local, regional, and global business opportunities.
- Support the sales teams across Southeast Asia to drive business growth, including attending critical sales meetings.
Trade Lane Management & Reporting:
- Develop trade lane strategies, set targets, and track performance through reporting systems and KPIs.
- Provide regional and country-specific data and insights to internal and external stakeholders for strategic decision-making.
Talent Development & Team Leadership:
- Train, develop, and mentor cross-border trucking staff, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage performance evaluations, hiring, and team coordination across the associated countries.
- Foster collaboration across functions and regions, building networks and encouraging knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, or related fields; freight forwarding apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in the logistics industry, with at least 8 years in management roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the trucking business, including documentation, operations, customs brokerage, and ground transportation.
- Proven experience in procurement and contract negotiations.
- Sales experience is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in English and a local language, with knowledge of neighboring languages considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
