Position: Data Governance/Quality Engineer (Contract 12 Months)

Salary: 100K

 

Key Accountabilities
  • 1.Engage with business teams and data scientists to gather data quality use cases and ensure checks deliver measurable business value.
  • 2.Design and implement data quality processes using Informatica (preferred) or other tools to support scalable and efficient data validation.
  • 3.Define and maintain data quality rules, metrics, and standards for profiling, cleansing, and enrichment across various data sources.
  • 4.Operationalize Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and establish automated monitoring processes to ensure ongoing data integrity.
  • 5.Support the development and rollout of data governance frameworks, including policies, data dictionaries, and metadata standards.
  • 6.Identify and resolve data quality and governance issues through root cause analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • 7.Monitor and report on data quality and governance KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • 8.Promote data stewardship and best practices, ensuring alignment with governance policies and regulatory requirements.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data engineering roles.
  • Experience with SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java, or Scala).
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, data observability, and agile project methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica is strongly preferred; familiarity with other data quality tools such as Talend, IBM InfoSphere, Microsoft Data Quality Services, or Collibra is a plus.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, cloud services, APIs)
  • Preferably in insurance, banking, consulting industries.
  • English is required (7-8/10 conversation skill).
